New Sharing in Ministry for General Fund 2010 - Pledge Card
The new sharing in ministry for 2010 is inviting "new" pledges and financial gifts above and beyond any current giving to Faith Lutheran for the General Ministry Fund. The General Fund finances all that we do as a congregation - worship, youth and adult ministries, pastoral care, outreach to the community and the world, as well as staff salaries. We ended 2009 with a deficit of $20,000 and with a slow start to our financial support in 2010 the deficit has doubled. Our leaders believe now is the time to address this shortfall so we can sustain our ministry of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are asking that all share in this need for new financial support of our General Ministry Fund. Below are listed three types of "givers" we find we have at Faith Lutheran, as well as ways for each to participate in this "NEW SHARING IN MINISTRY."
- There are always some who are in "Life Events" like underemployment or unemployment and sharing financial support becomes very challenging. You are invited to share what you might spend for a "coffee" or "fast food" stop per week, which would make a difference for the ministry of Faith Lutheran.
- We find that there are those who are "Situational Givers" who normally give when they see a special need and feel a connection to that need. "Situational Givers" generally do not plan their giving and so "out of sight – out of mind" means a "hit and miss" pattern of support for ministry. You are invited to start giving a weekly percentage of your income, in addition to what you might spend for a "coffee" or "fast food" stop per week, which would make a difference for the ministry of Faith Lutheran.
- The last groups of givers are the "Promise Givers." "Promise Givers" plan their giving usually as a percentage of their income or a tithe (10%) of their income. They know their giving is a part of their spiritual relationship with God and that sharing their financial gifts is really about their need to give. You are invited to share as you see God calling you in a new way to continue to make a difference for the ministry of Faith Lutheran.
Ways to give are: Auto-Pay - Simply Giving, On-line Giving (click the "Online Giving" box at the top right of this page), and offering envelopes if you do not currently receive them. There is also a pledge card in the pews at church or through the church office.
Membership Records Update
Over the last eight years over 500 households have been added to Faith Lutheran. We are beginning the process of updating and ensuring all membership records are complete and up to date. Many changes (cell phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) can occur for which we don’t receive updates. This process will give us an opportunity to do a necessary update...but WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
