The Social Ministry Leadership Team meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at church. During this time we pray for the people served by the ministries as well as the volunteers. We also oversee the ongoing work of each of the different local outreach ministries of Faith Lutheran Church.
SHAREFEST is held the first weekend in November. The bazaar raises money for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal and local hunger needs. Craft donations are welcome, as well as volunteers to help put on the event.
SUDANESE FAMILY SUPPORT - Faith has committed to a long-term partnership with a Sudanese family to provide financial, transportation, education, and spiritual support.
THANKSGIVING DAY DINNER is a turkey dinner with all the trimmings served on Thanksgiving Day to those in need. Hats, mittens, and a tote box of groceries are also distributed.
ACBC (Anoka County Brotherhood Council) is our local food shelf, and we regularly collect food and monetary donations to support the food shelf. During the month of March, we have a special food shelf emphasis. Volunteers are needed at the food shelf on a regular basis.
BREAD FOR THE WORLD is a collective Christian voice urging our nation's decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. Through working with Bread for the World—and using the educational resources provided—we encourage members of our church to address the root causes of hunger.
CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Program) is a coalition of congregations and other community partners who seek to avert crisis by providing food, clothing, and financial assistance and other emergency services. Located in the Anoka County Human Services building in Blaine. Many volunteer opportunities exist.
FAMILY TABLE MEAL is a free hot meal served at Faith Lutheran to anyone in our church and community the first Thursday of each month. Volunteers are needed every month. To volunteer, please sign up at the table in the gathering area.
FREE TO BE is a car care program which provides and repairs cars for those in need. Faith Lutheran sponsors the month of November, but volunteers are welcome year-round.
GIVING TREE - Provides opportunities to give gifts and food to help meet holiday needs for children and families in Coon Rapids.
HOME MINISTRY provides for temporary needs (meals, groceries, light housekeeping, errands, transportation) for members or friends of the congregation due to illness, surgery, or other factors.
MEALS ON WHEELS delivers hot noon meals to people of our community. Volunteers from Faith Lutheran deliver every six weeks, Monday – Friday at 11:30 AM.
MICAH NORTH (Metropolitan Interfaith Council of Affordable Housing) advocates for policy change that enables more affordable housing in Anoka county.
